Privacy policy
Tourscan is a logbook for people who tour. This policy says what it collects, who can see it and how to remove it.
Effective: November 4, 2026
Operator: Jeffrey Holcomb, United States
Contact: hello@tourscan.app
What you give us
- Account: email address, password, display name, and optional username, bio and profile photo.
- Your logbook: tours, shows, off days, places along the way, posters, private notes, routes and travel modes.
- People: connections, and crew you add to a tour. Crew can include names, roles and details of people who don't use Tourscan. Person cards can include where someone is based, how you met and social handles.
What stays on your phone
- Location: used while you're in Tour Mode to show you and tonight's venue on the map. We don't save it to your account.
- Contacts: if you link a person to a phone contact, that link stays on your phone and nothing is uploaded.
- Photos: only images you pick are uploaded.
Who can see your tours
Each tour has a setting under Edit tour, in Who can find this tour:
- Discoverable (the default): anyone signed in to Tourscan can find the tour by act or tour name, see its dates, shows, off days, venues, poster and your display name, and start their own copy. This includes upcoming dates, so set a tour to Connections or Private if its dates aren't public.
- Connections: your accepted connections can see it and start their own copy.
- Private: only you.
Crew, places along the way and private notes aren't shown with a Discoverable tour. Places along the way go with a tour you send only if you turn them on. A copy belongs to the person who made it, and deleting your tour doesn't delete copies other people already made.
Venues, acts and addresses you add go into a catalog shared by everyone on Tourscan.
Services that process data for us
| Service | What it receives | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Your account and logbook | Hosting and database |
| Sentry | Crash reports, without your name or email | Finding crashes |
| OpenAI | Text you paste and flyer photos you choose to import | Pulling dates and venues from them |
| Mapbox | Places searched and map requests | Maps, search and routes |
| setlist.fm, MusicBrainz | Artist names you search | Finding past tours and artists |
| Open-Meteo | Coordinates of a tour stop | Weather on tour |
| Resend | Your email address | Account emails, such as password resets |
| Brave Search | The search text for a poster, when you use poster search | Finding a poster |
We also record a small set of usage events tied to your account, such as "tour created", with no names, places or free text. If you choose Send diagnostics in Settings, you decide where that report goes.
We don't sell your data or show ads.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your data until you delete it. Settings > Export my logbook gives you a spreadsheet of your shows, days off and places. Settings > Delete account deletes your account and logbook.
Some things remain after you delete your account: copies other people made of your tours, and venues and acts in the shared catalog. People who listed you as crew keep your name on their cards as typed text.
Deleted data can stay in our hosting provider's backups for up to 30 days before it's gone.
If you're outside the United States
Tourscan is run from the United States and your account and logbook are stored there. The services above may process data in other countries.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see, correct, export or delete your data, and to object to or limit how it's used. Email hello@tourscan.app and we'll answer within 30 days. This also applies if someone listed you as crew and you don't use Tourscan. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Where the law requires a legal basis, such as under the GDPR, we use your account and logbook to provide the app you signed up for. We use crash reports and usage events because we have a legitimate interest in keeping the app working. We send text and photos to the import and search services because you asked us to.
Other things to know
Tourscan isn't for children under 13. If your country sets a higher age for using an app like this without a parent's consent, you need to be that age.
If this policy changes, we'll update the date above and say so in the app's release notes.
